Governor Jackson Mandago, EGH, graced an action packed morning as voyagers Nairobi Prison and Vihiga County nailed victories as the Kenya Volleyball Federation league served off in Eldoret.
The KVF’S league leg played at the Eldoret GoK Main Prison Grounds saw the two teams register victories in Saturday morning matches.
Nairobi Prisons beat Rift Valley Valley Prison 3-1, with the capital city jailers taking the first set 26-24, the hosts bouncing back to reclaim the second set in 25-15 and the visitors winning the third and fouth 25-20 and 25-22.
The second match saw Vihiga County humiliate their jailing friends Western Prison 3-1 in a mid morning.
Vihiga County won the first set 25-18, lost the second 23-25 but took the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-22.
Governor Mandago, while hosting the National Olympics of Kenya (NOC-K) delegation at his office recently, called for harnessing of non-athletics talents to also feature at the Olympics Games.
Mandago said Kenya boasts talents and called for collective efforts to ensure while the country sends teams to big sporting events, volleyball, rugby, cricket and all other sports are represented.
At the Saturday event, the Governor also displayed a pedigree spiking ability, his athletic body and height fueling his flight for a spike.
