A section of women from Rift Valley and western region have teamed up to campaign for Deputy President William Ruto.
The group dubbed “Wasupa na Ruto” said they will popularise Ruto ahead of his 2022 quest for presidency.
Led by Kilibwoni Member of the County Assembly Cynthia Muge, the women said Ruto had done a lot for the country and deserved to lead the county as president.
“We are standing with Ruto because of his work record, we know what he has done for example, when he was the minister of agriculture he ensure that maize and fertilizers are sold at a lower price. We are supporting him because we know what he is capable of,” said Muge.
They said his narrative of hustler nation will target everybody since he is from a humble beginning and they had witnessed his rise to greatness.
“Let us ensure we have identity cards and register as voters so that when the time of voting comes we will have numbers,” said Vivian Chepchirchir coordinator.
They urged the public to sensitize the locals to have IDs as early to avoid last minute rash.
They promised to go round the country to sell DPs manifesto and urged other women to join them.
The leaders present were lessos MCA Emmanuel Mengech, Nominated MCA Terry Maiyo and area MCA Joshua ngetich.
