Governor Mandago declares he will run for senate seat in 2022.
Uasin-gishu county Governor Jackson Mandago has hinted to vie for uasin-gishu senatorial seat come 2022.
Speaking at Kipkenyo in Kapseret Subcounty while opening several county projects in Kipkenyo ward Mandago said he has what it takes to be the next Senator.
He dismissed the Kenyans assumptions that one must be a lawyer to be a senator .
“Hii ya Mca, Governor hainihusu lakini Hii ya Senator muniachie Mimi nipange wengine wakisema senate inahitaji mtu wakili.Senator Kamar ni wakili?Na Senate Speaker Lusaka si alikuwa DC?” he said
Mandago is serving his last term as uasin-gishu county governor and he has huge political influence in Northrift region.
Could it be Mandago’s strategy to shilft from county politics to national politics?
