Form four leavers benefit from TVET scholarship in Chesumei.

Over 2000 form four leavers are set to join vocational training institutes courtesy of Chesumei Member of parliament education kitty.

In an inauguration ceremony facilitated by the area Mp Dr. Wilson Kogo, the students registered are expected to join over fifteen vocational colleges in across the country before the end of this year.

Speaking in Chemundu during the sensitization program targeting the youths, Dr. Kogo urged the parents to ensure that their children acquire technical skills from the available institutions.


“The vocational Institutions offer tailored courses to instill skills to individual learners and this should be adopted by those who have completed Secondary education. It should not be a challenge to join TVET since the government has injected funds to alleviate the cost of learning,” he said.

Debunking negative perception held by the community, the area legislator who was flanked by Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago noted that the locals have been disregarding technical institutions claiming to be meant for the failures.

“Technical courses are suitable for to all learners and therefore,it offers traininings on manual jobs that enables innovative skills and empowerment,” said Dr. Kogo.

Governor Mandago concurred with Dr. Kogo urging youths to be creative and initiate business projects to offer employment opportunities to skilled population.

” As north rift counties, we arrived an agreement that the counties through the devolution funds, each county should sponsor the students taking agriculture related courses to enhance production and value addition to animal and crops products,” he stated.

He further called upon the students to make prudent choices by selecting non-competitive courses to secure available Jobs.
