Chesumei Mp Paul Biego dangle Sh. 1 Million prizes for sports tournaments winners.
Chesumei Member of Parliament Paul Biego has rallied the youths to engage in sports activities to showcase their talents.
He noted that the empowerment programs that were recently rolled out by President William Ruto’s administration under Talantahela is tailored to create employement for thousands of youths in the community.
Speaking on Saturday while launching Chesumei sport tournament that is expected to kick off on Tuesday December 12th, 2023, Mp Biego said the event would help to bring out and cultivate budding talents in various balls games.
The tournament will include men and women sports comprising of football, Basket ball, volleyball and hand ball, competitions starting from ward level.
For the first and second position teams from the respective six wards will battle for the prizes worth Sh. 1 Million at Koitale Samoei grounds in the finals.
“We have a good number of talented youths in the community and the many will be lucky enough to be selected by organizations or companies to play in their established clubs. Sports is a lucrative industry and the youths should be encouraged to take up as their livelihoods, ” he stated.
The first and second teams at the ward level will be awarded Sh. 100, 000 and Sh. 50, 000 respectively and the third will earn presents including balls, t-shirts among other tokens.
