Aukot dismissed for alleging MCAs were bribed.
Punguza Mzigo bill proponent Ekuru Aukot has been lashed for claiming ward representatives were bribed to dismiss his initiative.
Aukot of the Thirdway Alliance had claimed Members of the County Assemblies were being bribed to reject the bill.
County Assembly Forum asked Aukot to withdraw his claims and apologise to assemblies that have rejected his bill.
“We will not take chances of failing people. Apologise for saying MCAs are bribed to reject punguza mzigo. We went through the bill and we were not satisfied.” said Forum Secretary General Kipkirui Chepkwony in a statement seen to be targeting Aukot.
He said Aukot was a bitter man seeking to dim the image of MCAs.
