Punguza Mzigo sails through in Uasin gishu.

Punguza Mzigo bill has received a nod in Uasin Gishu County.

Ward representatives unanimously passed the Third way Alliance fronted bill after a debate on Tuesday.

The bill seeks to reduce elective and nominated positions in Government.

“The bill having gone through the committee, the county Assembly and public participation by citizens of Uasin Gishu unanimously agreed to support the bill” said Bundotich.

Langas MCA Francis Muya who seconded the bill lauded the decision saying it was going to strengthen devolution.

” The bill will ensure that funds will be channelled to ward levels which will be the central unit of development thus the electorates will feel devolution. I now urge the senate and Parliament to approve the bill”. Said Muya.

Patrick Bundotich who moved the motion confirmed the decision of the county assembly.

Uasin Gishu County assembly David Kiplagat, said the certificate confirming the decision will be presented to speakers of the National Assembly and Senate.
