President Ruto not to be blame for high cost of living— Nandi Mps.
A section of Nandi legislators have urged that President William Ruto should be given time to fix the ailing economy to alleviate the prevailing high cost of living in the country.
They argued that the Kenyan Kwanza government has an elaborate economic development framework that is focusing on a long term and sustainable solutions challenges marred former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.
Speaking during a church fundraiser at Anglican Church, the leaders led by Emgwen MP Josses Lelmengit assured the citizens that the president and his team are on the course to mitigate the cost of living.
“The government has invested in the production and mobilising the farmers to engage in food production. This is the only way to liberate Kenyans from vagaries of economic inflation, and that the country should majorly depend of its generated revenues through taxes rather than importations and foreign loans,” he stated.
Tindiret MP Julius Melly concurred with Mp Lelmengit and applauded the government efforts to stabilise the economy despite financial crisis that was inherited from the previous regime.
“We found a broke government but so far President Ruto prioritised NG-CDF and Counties in the disbursement of 2023/24 funds. This shows that our economy is starting to grow. We have seen the fertilizers have reduced and more teachers have been employed. That shows that our President is doing a great job and we know that we are moving on the right direction.” Said Melly.
He criticize the Azimio la Umoja leaders for trying to sabotage the efforts made by the government by using demonstrations, urging them to give the President time to deliver on its agenda.
” We cannot waste time and resources on engaging with opposition, this is our time to work and deliver to the people who voted for us. The President has clear development strategies to bring the country to its feet.” stated Chesumei MP Paul Biego.
