Nandi senator Samson Cherargei has faulted the interior CS Dr Fred Matiang’i over his involvement in 2022 succession politics.
He claimed that the CS’s indulgence to politics is againts the constitution thus ensued fear interfere with the electoral process using state machineries.
“I am telling thee CS who have opted to politics to step out of ministerial docket and join us in the campaign spree. You cannot abdicate the duties you were appointed for and engage in the elected leaders on war of words, you should stick to your to lanes,” he stated.
Noting that administrators including the county commissioners, Deputy County commissioners and the local chiefs should not be politicized, the Dp William Ruto’s ally claimed that the interior minister want to micromanage the general election in favor of said ‘prefered’ presidential.
“He is entrusted to provide security to all Kenyans when they prepare to exercise their democratic duty in electing their leaders. How can we expect an institution to serve Kenyans fairly yet their officer holders are plotting otherwise?” he posed.
Cherargei further poured cold water to the Political parties Amendments bill yet to be determined in paliament, arguing to be having malicious proposals set to compromise with the independence and democracy establishments of the political outfits.
“We want the this people to respect the constitution, there’s no way you can micro manage political parties, and thus undermines the parties that belong to Kenyans. We shall rejects it,” he stated.
