KCPE2020: Nandi County on the limelight after two top 10 candidates countrywide.

Nandi County has produced two top ten candidates nationally.

The county christened “the source of champions” owing to it’s athletics prowess, got to the limelight in education after Laureen Tarus and Abiud Kipkurui scored 431 and 430 marks respectively.

“I cannot believe that I became the first one in rift valley and position six in country. Despite covid 19 pandemic I tried my best and I want to be a cardiologist,” said Tarus who was a pupil at St. Mathew’s Septonok

Chesumei member of Parliament Wilson Kogo who is in education committee in Parliament congratulated all the pupils urging parents and teachers to put more efforts also on boys just like the girls.

“I ask all stakeholders to ensure that both boys and girls are encouraged and supported to excel on their studies,” he said.

He noted that there was a declining performance among boys as compared to girls.
