Northrift Legislators refute alleged rift between President Ruto and his Deputy Gachagua.

A section of Rift Valley legislators have refuted the alleged rift between President William Ruto and his Deputy Regathi Gachagua.

They claimed that their friendship is intact and they are focused to deliver the Kenya Kwanza development agenda terming the prevailing narratives of division as political sideshows.

Speaking on Friday in Nandi during the opening of Chepsonoi and Kobujoi modern market, Emuruadikir Mp Johanna Ng’eno, Mp Joses Lelmengit (Emgwen), Marrianne Kitany (Aldai) and Nandi Women Rep Cynthia Muge, they raised their concerns over politicians peddling divisive politics to sabotage President Ruto-led administration.

Mp Ng’eno said that the Kenya Kwanza leaders endured harassment and prosecution in the previous regime while campaigning for Kenya Kwanza and they are supporting the presidency in fixing the ailing economy and Kenya Kwanza development agenda.

“We suffered a lot and we cannot afford to bring down the government that we installed. We cannot allow a few individuals with malicious interests to drag toxic politics amongst us to portray an adverse image of the presidency,” he said.

He reminisced about the Jubilee government where they sacrificed their political allegiance in support of President Ruto’s presidential candidacy to the chagrin of then President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“We were arrested, denied access to government offices and resources including regular arrest of leaders allied to the DP Ruto. We cannot condone propaganda that tends to digress the president and his deputy from the initial mission of bringing the country together,” affirmed Mp Ng’eno.

Women Rep Cythia Muge said that a conducive political environment is vital for dispensation of government services and implementation of projects and called upon leaders to steer what she said as incessant divisive politics.

“We cannot say that we support the Kenya Kwanza administration and are pulling in different directions as leaders. Let’s all give unqualified support to the President and his deputy to serve Kenyans they elected into their offices, they have a plan and it will go a long way in revitalizing our economy and creating jobs for the youths,” she urged.

Mp Kitany also caution DP Gachagua against listening to the government critics whose motive is to sow a seed of discord within the government for their political gains.

“There are people who are keen to taint the government to appear as if there are fighting factions. They are working hard holding on anything to distract us from working for Kenyans ,” she stated.

However, Mp Lelmengit vowed that they will stick to the course to ensure that Kenya Kwanza bottom-up development framework is actualized.

“We will work with the people and ensure that our bottom up agenda is felt across the country. This is not the time for politics, we cannot waste time politicking over rumors and baseless narratives” Said Josses Lelmengit.
