A concern has been raised over a high teenage pregnancies in Uasin Gishu.
Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno says the high teenage pregnancy is a concern that need to be addressed.
Speaking in a fund drive in aid of purchasing plot at Happy Church ministries Munyaka, Chemno said Ainabkoi Sub County is among areas with high cases.
“In 4 years, we have 27,000 cases of teenage pregnancies in Uasin Gishu, if a single school has 400 children, how many schools are those?” the DG posed.
He called on the church to step in and help addressing the challenge.
Chemno also assured Eldoret locals of the county’s commitment to providing them with sufficient water.
He revealed that plans are at an advanced stage for the construction of Kipkorgot dam that will boost water supply to the town dwellers.
“We’re working on a dam in Kipkorgot that will give Eldoret 30 years of guaranteed supply of water,” Chemno noted.
