Lands Cabinet Secretary Faridah Karoney has called on alumni of schools in Kenya to pull resources together to help underprivileged children in access education.
The CS said little efforts from former students was likely to cater for education of many needy students whose future hangs in the balance because they cannot clear their fees.
Speaking at Kapkolei Girls School in Nandi County where she donated furniture to the institution, Karoney urged well wishers not to relent in lending a helping hand to the less fortunate saying working together towards the welfare of others was crucial in promoting development in the country.
The CS in collaboration with Lotto Foundation gave out chairs and tables to equip the dining hall.
She also donated Sh100,000 to the school kitty to cater for fees for students from humble background struggling with arrears.
Karoney called on Kenyans to help each other and avoid being distracted with political differences.
“We need to focus on promoting development and avoid being misled by political disagreements. Let’s pull our resources together for the right causes,” she said.
At the same time, Karoney advised parents to invest in educating their children to guarantee them brighter future.
