Elgeyo Marakwet county governor to investigate complains on health workers recruited recently.
Elgeyo Marakwet County Governor Alex Tolgos has said his government is going to investigate complaints from some of the residents following the recent recruitment of health workers in the county.
Speaking in Iten town, the governor said that the list of the people who had been recruited by the county public service board has not been dismissed but being reviewed.
Tolgos added that health workers who have volunteered for long will be given first priority after reviewing the list.
There are some of the youths who have been offering services to the residents in various hospitals in the county since 2015 without payment”, said Tolgos adding they should be given a chance.
The governor insisted that any recruitment exercise in the county should be done with fairness and transparency and he will not allow any form of corruption.
He noted that health department have been given an opportunity to employee other workers under contract but they are going to hold on until they are done with the recent complains launched by the members of the public.
County deputy speaker Christopher Chemosong earlier on had raised concern over thesame suggesting that long serving volunteers were suppose to be considered.
