My focus is on education—Tindiret MP

Tindiret MP Julius Meli has said his focus on supporting education through improvement of learning facilities and disbursement of bursaries to students will remain his top priority.

Speaking in Chemase when he issued a 51 seater school bus for Kapsigilai Girls Secondary School, the legislator said he would use NG-CDF funds to boost the sector.

“We have prioritize education in Tindiret, our budget is over 80% for funding schools through bursaries and scholarships for the students. We have also constructed schools buildings and giving out water tanks in most of the schools in my constituency,” said Meli.


Meli thanked the government for giving the teachers in that area hardship allowance adding that the area will no longer face teachers shortage since they will be getting there hardship allowance.

“Education is very important for a community to change people must be educated and religious, I want to urge the teachers to put more efforts now that they have hardship allowance,” He said.

He also urged the head teachers to ensure that they follow covid protocols.

He assured all the schools withing irrigation project that they will get water to assist in following the covid protocols.

“All I want is for students to go to school and perform without interference for a better future. Those who are not within the irrigation project we have bought water tanks also to assist them since we have a problem with water in our constituency,” said Meli.

Meli also called upon the locals to join the technical colleges within the constituency to upgraded their education.

“So far we have two technical college and can accommodate over 2000 students. I call upon the residents in Nandi county to enroll to the technical trainers college,” he said.

He was accompanied by the area MCA and cdf official who supported his sentiments.
