Youth in Aldai urged to enroll for TVET courses.

The youth in Aldai Constituency have been urged to enroll for technical courses offered in the local Technical and Vocational Training and Education (TVET) courses to gain empowerment skills.

Following the completion of Aldai Technical Institute and Vocational Educational center for Electrical and electronic and ICT center, the Principal Secretary (PS) for TVET Dr. Margaret Mwakima and Mp Corneli Serem said that the facility is set to resolve economic challenges facing the young intellectuals in the community.

Speaking during the commissioning of the ICT facility to benefit over 1,200 students, Dr. Mwakio noted that the incorporation of the technology with the skills would enhance innovation and self-employment capacity using the readily available resources.

“Technology skills help one to adopt modern ways of income generation and resolving contemporary economic issues. The government is looking forward for the TVET facility to churn competent and reliable human resources for a sustainable country’s economy,” she stated.

The Sh. 335 Million ICT training complex installed with computers, electronic laboratory and research equipments among other experiments and students research aides was recently completed.

” The government is focused to boost the economic activities including agriculture, industries and manufacturing, and the only way of achieving these is impacting the youth with relevant knowledge,” pointed out Dr. Mwakio.

MP Serem stated that “the training facilities including brick makers are available and the students produce the contraction material and sell to the locals thus generate income to sustain the TVET center,”

He, however, noted that majority of those who have completed the TVET trainings have created their own enterprises in the community.
