West Pokot officials facing corruption charges released on bail.

Five county officials facing corruption-related charges have been released on bond by a court in Eldoret.  The court directed each to pay Sh2 million and assurance of the same.

The suspects included Dr Mike Ptoo who worked as county secretary and Alice Chepkosgei who served at the procurement office.

Others included Joseph Lolmtum Timu, Elvis Rotich Mwanga and Titus Toroitich Mayech.

The five are facing 18 counts of charges to misuse of public funds. Chief magistrate Charles Obultsa said the suspects had a right to be released on bond.

The magistrate warned the five suspects against setting foot at their offices without permission from the prosecution.

The case will be mentioned on July 30.
