West Pokot Landslides; NOREB issue a statement, calls for humanitarian support.

“The North Rift Economic Bloc is saddened by the landslide tragedy that struck West Pokot County, one of our member counties. We send our sincere condolences to the bereaved families and wish a quick recovery to those who sustained injuries.

As a coordinating body for the region, we are mobilising resources from our member counties, partners and well wishers to support the victims of the West Pokot landslide.

Through our Chairman and Uasin Gishu County Governor Jackson Mandago, NOREB has dispatched health/rescue personnel, ambulances, heavy machinery and other emergency service equipment from Uasin Gishu County to assist in the rescue operation in West Pokot.

As North Rift Economic Bloc (NOREB) region, we call on agencies, organisations and people of goodwill to extend all manner of humanitarian aid to the affected area.
