Business is the only activity that can engage every individual with the ability and ambition to thrive.
As an alternative way of poverty eradication and all the saints linked to it, developing and nurturing business ideas is vital for Uasin Gishu residents.
The County Government has in a way of supporting business people established markets across the County through the Department of Trade.
Recently, the Department under the guidance of ICT, Trade and Industrialization CECM Dr.Emily Kogos realized the completion of a renovation exercise of the wholesale market. Laying of tables is also about to be completed.
“As soon as the laying of tables is complete, the already verified and legitimate owners of the market stalls will relocate to the newly rehabilitated wholesale market”.
“……This will bring to an end the high congestion of traders operating in the hawkers market as well as providing a conducive business environment” reiterated Kogos.
Other significant achievements witnessed are a complete fence of Chemical Market, installation of a septic tank at Sogomo market, a complete perimeter wall in Kuinet market and a completed toilet in Burnt forest market.
Construction of stalls, shades, perimeter fences, water towers and Bio-digester for market toilets in Kuinet, Merewet, Momoniat, Ng’enyilel and Moi’s bridge markets will soon commence. The procurement process of the same is underway.
All these structures will provide a conducive business environment to enable the operators to improve their businesses which will not only see them empowered economically but also realize the County’s economic growth.
