A local administrator in Uasin Gishu county has been summoned by the commissioner following a viral photo in which he was pictured pouring a brown liquid, suspected to be a local brew, busaa, on the helpless woman seated on a wooden bench.
Kipkabus chief Jeremiah Muge Chemwalo has been summoned by county commissioner Abdirazak Jaldesa and is expected to see him on Tuesday, April 14.
Confirming the summon, Jaldesa said he had received complaints from members of the public and is set to meet the local administrators to shed more light on the matter.
“I have received complaints from members of the public but since Monday will be a holiday, I have summoned the chief and other administrators to my office on Tuesday,” said Jaldesa.
The woman in the photo identified as Viola Jelimo said it was not the first time for such an act and the local administrators had done the same before to other illicit brew makers.
