Trans Nzoia County has received a consignment of sanitizers from the National Government to supplement its efforts in combating the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.
The sanitizers were received today by Governor Patrick Khaemba at the office of the County Commissioner Samson Ojwang.
The sanitizers are packed in 500 millimeters and 20 litre containers.
Governor Khaemba welcomed the national government’s gesture in response to the deadly disease.
He urged residents to continue adhering to the guidelines given by the government and warned that those defying the orders will be held accountable.
President Uhuru Kenyatta on March 18 mandated the Kenya Pipeline Corporation to liaise with selected oil industry players and other private sector players who expressed willingness to produce alcohol-based sanitisers for free distribution to the public throughout the country as one way of preventing the spread of covid-19.
