Traders protest over insecurity in Kapsabet.

Electronic business operators have protested over increases insecurity in Kapsabet town that has seen many of their businesses broken into and valuables stolen.
On Monday, electronics estimated to cost millions were stolen from a shop that was broken into in the town.
The traders under the umbrella ‘Kapsabet Business Electronic Association’ held a peaceful demonstration on xx over the matter.
Led by Peter Chalicha, the director of the chamber of commerce, the traders said there was a syndicate between thieves and some rogue police officers.
Speaking at the county Headquarters the traders demanded for immediate removal of suspected officers.
Nicholas Kibet, a youth representative urged the commissioner to ensure that their is enough patrol in town especially at night at the business premises.
“Most of the time police officers focus most on illicit brew rather than providing security in our town, we urge them to focus more in our business premises,” said Kibet.
County commissioner Geoffrey Omoding assured the traders if any police officers found dealing with the thieves they will face the law.
“We will come up with strategies to ensure that we pin them down, let us do a follow up and any officer found dealing with criminals we shall ensure that he or she faces the law,” said Omoding.
