Tindiret MCA decries shortage of human resource at ICU units.

Tindiret ward representative Kipkurui Chepkwony has revealed that there were shortage of staff to operate at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Covid-19 isolation centre.

The MCA said although the isolation centre had ICU units, shortage of experts to operate the machines had rendered the facility incapable of helping patients during emergencies.

“We had allocated 151Milion of supplementary budget for emergency so we want to know how the county used the money because we are not seeing its fruits,” said chepkwony.


He said they expected the county to give priority to the qualified doctors who can use the ICU machines because of the covid pandemic.

The secretary general of the county Assembly’s forum was speaking at time a select committee at the county assembly led by Kabiyet ward rep Walter Tenoh sermoned the health and finance heads to give light on how the allocated funds was spend.

The committee is set to end their sitting on Monday and thereafter give a comprehensive report of the findings before the Assembly.
