Terik residents in court after missing ward funds.

Locals from Terik community in Nandi County are in court after funds meant for construction of a vocational centre were diverted.

The minority group in the county claimed individuals in power influenced a decision that denied the residents Sh5.5 million meant for establishing the centre.

Terik Elders for Development claimed they petitioned the County Assembly and the County Executive but their pleas were ignored.

” We want our share back. As the people of terik ward we feel so marginalised as if we are not part of the people of Nandi.” Said Ezekiel Mengech Chairman of Terik elders.

The elders appeared in Eldoret High Court today for the mentioning whereby the next mention is on October 30 this year and the respondents have been ordered by the lead judge Mr Githinji S.M to submit the responses 14 days from today.
