Baringo County Commissioner Henry Wafula has warned Baringo leaders against interfering with the ongoing security operation in Tiaty.
Wafula said that his office will arrest and prosecute all political leaders, who use their positions to politicize security issues in the county.
Speaking in Kabarnet town, Wafula says political leaders are trying to consolidate security in the county, with the aim of gaining political prominence.
The commissioner added that his patience has now reached the limit, and that his office will no longer be concerned with the position or prominence of anyone who will be found guilty of interfering with his role as security chair of the county.
He also cautioned leaders who are addicted to using social media to publish information to discredit other leaders including the office of the president.
“Each leader should be accountable for his or her own office rather than interfering with others”, said Wafula.
Wafula makes this statement barely weeks after the County Governor Stanley Kiptis led the other members of the county, asking the government to issue a mandatory transfer to commissioner wafula after he made threats to political leaders and authorized the arrest of Bartabwa ward representative Reuben Chepsongol.
Chepsongol had earlier on accused the government of failing to tackle cattle rustlers in the county.
