State of art athletic camp in high altitude area to open doors later this year.
Upcoming athletes have a reason to smile as the state of art athletics training camp in Nandi County is under construction.
The camp will be equiped with modern ICT facilities and a conference, it’s projected be completed by September this year.
Landson Foundation, a brainchild of Alfred Koech (Founder) is building an athletic camp at Mutwot area that will have a 30 bed capacity.
The camp targets young talented athletes in primary and high school with challenges of paying their fees.
With it’s mantra “Talents for education” the foundation has been supporting students from humble background by buying them basic requirements including uniforms, stationery and other running apparels.
Koech said the foundation had donated over 800 pairs of training shoes and sponsored over 25 young athletes with fees .
“The training camp is located at the high altitude area as this will be a major boost for aspiring athletes since they will enjoy the advantages found in Iten where many established athletes train,” said Koech
He said once the construction is completed in September, the identified athletes will start making use of the facilities.
“We are confident that great stars will emerge from the camp. They will have the best facilities that will prepare them adequately,” Koech exuded confidence.
Koech who was speaking from his official residence in Perth, Australia lauded The Running Centre and the running community in Australia for supporting the ambition by providing training gear.
He also expressed gratitude to Team Landson Perth and other friends and well-wishers who have continued to contribute to the success of the organization.
