A vehicle has plunged into the Cheploch Gorge at the border of Elgeyo-Marakwet and Baringo counties.
According to initial reports, the Wednesday 11pm incident happened when the saloon car hit a guard rail at the Kerio River bridge before plunging into the water.
The identity of those who were on board the saloon car, which has been fully submerged into the flowing waters of Kerio River, is yet to be revealed.
Police who arrived at the scene shortly after midnight spent the better part of the wee hours trying to retrieve the vehicle.
Search and recovery efforts in the 100-metre deep crocodile infested gorge is currently ongoing.
