Calls have been made to Nandi Governor Stephen Sang to institute changes in his administration to promote service delivery in the county.
Led by Chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce in the county Samuel Seronei, Sang has been advised to follow the precedence set by President Uhuru Kenyatta to reshuffle his government.
Uhuru recently reshuffled his cabinet in an exercise that saw Mwangi Kiunjuri who was the Cabinet Secretary for agriculture dismissed as new faces were brought on board.
Seronei said there was need to restructure leadership in Nandi County at all levels including subcounty administration and departments.
” Subcounty administrators and County Executive Committees need changes. Some officials have become reluctant to work leading to poor delivery of services to the public,” claimed Mr Seronei.
He said construction of roads and provision of water were among the services affected as those in charge neglect their duties.
“Roads are now pathetic which has compromised delivery of goods to the market,” claimed Seronei.
He also observed that residents had been deprived of water prompting them to rely on water ferried using donkeys by vendors.
Seronei said unless changes were made by Governor Sang, laxity will continue in his administration and on the process, the county Chief will lose public confidence.
“The governor should shake up his administration before it ruins his image. People elected him and the blame lies on him when service delivery is compromised,” he noted.
