Pregnant woman attacked by stray dogs in Kapsabet town.

Residents of Kapsabet town are living in fear after a marauding dogs attacked and injured a pregnant woman in her compound.

Noyline Jepkorir,21 years was emptying her dustbin when she was attacked living her with wounds in the hands, back and thighs.

Jepkorir shouted for help and her neighbors came to her rescue and rushed her to Kapsabet County Referral Hospital.

The residents have called upon the veterinary department to get rid of the dogs that are roaming around since it poses danger to human beings and domestic animals.

The head of veterinary services in Nandi county Dr.Samson Bitok said that the rise of stray dogs is due to irresponsible dog keeping by owners urging the dog owners to take care of theirs dogs and feed them.

” I want to ask institutions with feeding programs to responsibly dispose off the food remains.” He said.

He assured that the roaming dogs will be captured and taken to animal welfare groups so that they can be rehabilitated and restored to various home for care since baiting of dogs have been banned.

The residents have threatened to eliminate the dogs if measures are not taken.
