Police gun down four suspected robbers in Eldoret town.
Police officers from Eldoret Police Station this morning gunned down four suspected robbers believed to have been part of a dreaded gang terrorizing residents.
The four were shot at Total petrol station, next to International Vision Center Church in Eldoret, with the incidence causing a huge traffic snarl up along the busy Eldoret-Kitale highway.
Uasin Gishu County police commander Johnstone Ipara has confirmed the incident saying that the suspects had ignored an order to stop at a police road block, forcing officers to open fire.
Reports indicate that the suspected gangsters were from Nakuru, and were planning to rob a hardware within Eldoret town before the incidence.
A Taurus pistol with 11 rounds of ammunition, two magazines and a pocket phone were recovered by officers from the scene.
