Patients with infertility problems from the North Rift region have been urged to try In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) method to tackle infertility.
IVF is the process of fertilization by extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample, and then manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish.
The embryo(s) is then transferred to the uterus. According to Dr. Manish Pandya, the head of the gynecology department at the Eldoret hospital, this is an Assisted Reproduction Technique (ART) the leading technology that helps to tackle infertility.
“I want to urge all infertility patient from the North Rift that’s it’s not the end of life being but the problem can be fixed through In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) method,” said Dr. Pandya at Eldoret Hospital Friday during the one-week fertility camp.
He said according to world statics two in every 10 couples suffer from infertility and that IVF will fulfill their desire for fertility and parenthood by giving them the treatment using IVF.
“Let us not be ashamed of our conditions let us come out so that you can be helped,” he added.
He further said that patients can get the service at Eldoret Hospital where patients will no longer incur expenses of traveling to India or Nairobi to get the services as it will now be offered at the facility.
“Our fertility center has a state of the art operation theatre and embryology laboratory with laminar fair low creating a sterile environment, therefore, increasing the rate of success,” noted Dr. Manish.
He said some of the causes of infertility in men include Smoking, drug abuse, alcohol, tight jeans, small testis, fast food, sometimes trauma, and swimming habits damage which damage testis.
