No truck stop overs in Uasin Gishu–CEC Rotich.
There will be no more stop-overs for trailers in Uasin Gishu County. This follows a directive from the Kenya National Emergency Response Team. Transit goods plying between Mombasa and Malaba have their designated checkpoints and hotels at Malaba, Gilgil, Mlolongo and Mariakani.
This declaration were made public when Uasin Gishu County Executive Commitee Member for Health, Evelyne Rotich led a multi-agency team on a working tour of Kapmagut screening point at the border of Uasin Gishu and Kakamega County.
“No truck is allowed to stop anywhere within Uasin Gishu county, equally all trucks drivers entering our borders must display COVID-19 clearance certificates before being allowed through”, CECM Rotich said.
An average of 2,700 travelers entering Uasin Gishu County are screened daily at Burnt Forest and Kapgmagut boarders.
During the tour,Turbo Deputy County Commissioner Mohammed Mwabudzo, urged the residents of Jua Kali and Maili Nne to enhance adherence to government directives in the wake of new number of infections in Uasin Gishu County.
