State-owned milk processor New KCC has announced it will start paying the money owed to farmers who supplied milk before the collapse of the parent company in 1999 this week.
According to the Chief Executive officer Nixon Sigey, the firm has already settled debts, tottaling more than Sh400 Million, in the first and second phases.
“From this week, we will start paying the remaining balance in the last phase..we believe this will continue to boost farmers confidence in the processor.” said sigey in Eldoret on saturday adding that they are encauraging farmers to engage in the dairy business.
The previous farm collapsed in 1999 due to financial challenges.
