Nandi Women Representative advise youth against being used by politicians.

Nandi Woman Representative Dr Tecla Tum has raised alarm unnamed politicians whom she accused of inciting youth into chaos.

Tum said some politicians were bribing and misleading youth to disrupt meetings organized by their rival political leaders.

Speaking to journalist in Kapsabet showground, Tum said the level of political intolerance in the county was on the rise warning that if action is not taken, the matter will degenerate into violence.


She advised youth to exercise control and avoid being misled and used by rogue politicians who are eager to ride on chaos.

“Some politicians buy youth alcohol or bribe them in an attempt to sponsor defiant actions such as disruption of rallies or other meetings. It is wrong and should be condemned,” Tum said.

She called upon the youths to shun away from politicians who have bad intentions of misusing them.

Tum was addressing journalists after giving out tents to church group members as part of her developments agenda.

“I have given 225 tents to women, youth and persons with disabilities. Today I have given out 48 tents to 48 churches,” she said.

She urged those who will receive the tents to ensure that they use it well to generate income and empower themselves.

Among the projects being sponsored by the office of the Woman representative is the ongoing construction of rehabilitation center in Kaprisang, giving out cows to people living with disabilities, bursaries to needy students and money to empower women, youth and people living with disabilities.
