Muslim families in Nandi County have a reason to smile after receiving food from a well-wisher ahead of Id ull fitri celebrations.
About one hundred families from Nandi hills, Kaptumo, Kapsabet and Kamobo areas received donations from Allan Kibet Kosgei, an aspiring politician and renowned lawyer.
The families that received the donations had been hard hit by Covid-19 pandemic and could not hide their joy after receiving the food.
Speaking to Northrift mirror, Kosgei said all Muslims deserve support to ensure that their celebrations are successful.
“Right now most of the families are suffering. Many lost their jobs and livelihoods due to the pandemic. I decided to support them so that they can celebrate like other fortunate persons,” said Kosgei.
The families were overwhelmed with the support Kosgei gave them saying that the Muslim community were being neglected most of the time.
“I want to say thank you to Allan Kosgei for remembering us especially this pandemic time because we were wondering where we will get the food stuff to celebrate,” said Fatuma a resident of Nandi Hills town.
Fatuma urged the Muslim community to observe Covid-19 protocols as they mark the important day.
