Nandi Hills MCA step out for tree planting exercise along Chepsangor black spot.
Nand Hills MCA Gideon Koech on friday joined members of a local WhatsApp group in a tree planting exercise along Nandi Hills – Kisumu road at Kona Nyanya.
For decades, Chepsangor has hit headlines because of grisly road accidents witnessed at the blackspot prompting residents to embark on tree planting exercise along the stretch to not only conserve the environment but also ensure that once mature the trees can act as barriers, preventing motor vehicles from rolling down the steep slopes.

Koech who donated 500 Bamboo seedlings through his foundation said the Government through the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) will soon begin the rehabilitation of the stretch.
“I wish to appreciate KeNHA for responding to my letter of request of erection of guard rails and warning signs along the Nandi Hills – Chepsangor – Kimwani – Awasi road.” Koech said
The county Legislator said the emergency road safety enhancement along the stretch will reduce accidents.
The Whatsapp group comprises of members from across Nandi Hills constituency and it was established in 2014 with the MCA being one of the pioneer administrators.
