Nandi Governor up scales terms for ECDE teachers.
Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) teachers in Nandi have a reason to smile about after they were confirmed as county permanent employees.
This comes after the County Governor Stephen Sang unveiled the list of over 1,400 teachers work as the county employees until their retirement age, enjoying the annual salary increment package and guaranteed job security.
Governor Sang reiterated that his government has prioritized ECDE teachers welfare to enhance the foundation of the learning system for the prosperous academic performance of the pupils.
“For years, ECDE teacher have been grappling with the economic challenges and as the county, we consider them and put into permanent basis and youngest will be working for 36 years to retire. The nursery schools going forward will be offering quality education under the tutorials of the experience teachers,”he said.
Governor Sang further assured the county employees of getting promotions as one way of giving them moral support thus demanded the of delivering their services as mandated.
“We acknowledge that we still need more teachers in our schools and we shall recruit them in the long run. From 800, over 500 teachers have been employed for the last three years to curb shortage that existed before,” Governor Sang sta, assuring that the county will embark on the recruitment exercise soon.
