Nandi county to embark on digital skills training targeting over 2,000 youths.

The County Government of Nandi has partnered with information giant  Google,Computers for schools Kenya (CFSK) and Information & Communication Technology Authority (ICTA) , to train some 2,000 Nandi residents, particularly youths, on digital skills within the next few weeks.

Through this partnership with Google and other stakeholders, the County Government of Nandi hopes to equip young Nandi residents with digital skills particular on ICT literacy skills, Ajira programme and Google digital skills.

Speaking yesterday while flagging off  the last consignment of computers and network materials to Vocational Training Centers  (VTCs) accross the county, Chief Officer for  ICT & e-Government Mr Jonathan Misoi said the training programme will commence next month.


“21st Century skills requires that we deliberately innovate to find ways for our youth to access and upgrade their tech skills” added Misoi.

He further reiterated the county government’s commitment to youth empowerment by increasing the county youths’ digital capacity and urged Nandi youths to visit the training centers and enroll.
