Nandi County has rolled out kazi kwa vijana programme with a plea to youths to join the exercise.
County Executive Committee Member for sports and youth Elly Kurgat said youth in all the six sub-counties were welcome to join the exercise.
The programme targets over 600 youth across the county and their duties will include road repairs, cleaning the environment, plumbing works among others.
“We ask the youth to join the programme to keep themselves busy as they generate income for themselves,’ said Mr Kurgat.
The CECM said there will also be basic skills training that youth will learn as they work.
“I also encourage those youths with talents in various areas and graduands of technical and vocational centres to join the programme,” he said.
The officer further asked female youth not to shy off from joining saying it was a fair exercise to all gender.
The exercise will take place on 6th in mosop, 7th aldai, 9th emwgwen, 13th chesumei, 14th Nandi Hills and 16th tindiret sub counties.
