North Rift Economic Bloc (Noreb) has eulogised retired President Daniel Moi as a leader who believed in development through pulling together of resources.
Noreb Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dominic Biwott said Moi had a vision of unity geared towards promoting development that should be emulated by all leaders.
“Moi demonstrated that pulling resources together leads to development. That is why he spearheaded fundraisers and urged parents to join hands in setting up schools and other institutions,” said Dr Biwott.
He said the joining of hands by counties in the north rift through the Noreb Bloc was a demonstration that unity is pro-development as Moi aspired.
“Moi often said unity is strength and we are confident our coming together as counties will yield fruits,” he said.
The CEO said the demise of the former president was a great loss adding that it was better to celebrate his life by continuing his Nyayo philosophy of peace, love and unity.
“During Moi’s era, we enjoyed peace and prosperity. We need to abide by the ideals he initiated,” observed Biwott.
He further praised Moi for the developments in the North Rift including the Eldoret Airport, Moi University, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, and Moi Girls High School among many other infrastructure.
“He was a visionary leader who despite criticism was eager to initiate development project that we reap benefit from up to this time,” he stated.
