Mandago seeks partnership with Iran in medical equipment, Livestock and avacado export.

Governor Jackson Mandago EGH accompanied by Dr. Eric Ruto the Vice President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) on Tuesday hosted a delegation from Iran led by Jafar Barmaki Iranian Ambassador to Kenya who paid him a courtesy call.

During the meeting, a number of issues were discussed among them the possibility for Iranian investors to collaborate with local traders on how medical equipment can be manufactured locally under technology transfer with support of mother companies.

“Iran is one of the countries willing to transfer technology, they are not just out to make us their permanent market but are willing to help us manufacture the same equipment,” Mandago said.


The Governor who is also the chairman of the North Rift Economic Bloc (NOREB) further called on the Iran envoy to consider bringing in investors who will partner on the modern abattoir already set up in West Pokot and Baringo, as well as fruit processing investors in Elgeyo Marakwet.
