Mandago receives more donations to help fight Covid-19.

The County Government of Uasin Gishu continues to receive support from various groups as the country steps up he fight against Covid-19.

On Friday, Governor Jackson Mandago EGH received separate donations from Eldoret National Polytechnic, Kenya Association of Manufacturers and Evidence Action.

Eldoret National Polytechnic donated food stuff to be used at the quarantine and isolation facilities while KAM led by North Rift chairman Bryan Cuthbert donated 50 hand washing water tanks.


The Governor also received two consignments of bar soaps and surface disinfectants from Evidence Action , a non govermental organization which supports various water and sanitation projects led by Area Co-ordinator Samson Andunga Wakoli .

Speaking during the event, Mandago welcomed the donations and asked other well wishers to come up and offer support on various items.

He also expressed the need for everybody to strictly adhere to the set down Coronavirus precautionaty measure.

Mandago further issued an order asking all face mask vendors to maintain a high level of hygene.

“Those selling masks must first be clean and also carry a hand sanitizer. Anyone found selling mask yet he/she is dirty or has no sanitizer will be dealt with,” he warned.

The Governor also advised locals to ensure they properly dispose off their masks by first tearing them apart so as to leave no chance for unscrupulous individuals collecting them and washing them selling to unsuspecting members of the public.

The county boss further wanted illicit brew sellers still operating behind closed doors that their days are numbered.

Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno, CEC Health Everlyn Rotich, CEC Trade Dr Emily Kogos, CEC Mary Njogu Water and Majority leader Lowoi were inattendance.
