Mandago opens East Africa Gasoil in Eldoret.
Governor Jackson Mandago EGH on Saturday presided over the official opening of a new petrol station along the Eldoret-Nakuru highway – East Africa GasOil (EAGOL)
Speaking during the event, Mandago affirmed his Government’s commitment to ensuring there is an improved business environment for investors.
“As a county and security team – we agreed that all Kenyans doing business anywhere here, we will ensure their investments are safe,” he said.
The Governor said the opening of the new petrol station will enhance transport as those in the industry will easily access fuel.
He also noted that the new investment will help boost local revenue through the payment of trade licenses.
Governor Mandago also challenged investors for the new petrol station to help support recently graduated students from TVET institutions.
He said the county has sufficient skilled manpower following the initiative to support youths study various technical courses.
“This county, we’re serious in technical skills. You won’t miss any skilled manpower that you want to use in this petrol station.
We want to train those in colleges practically and when principals ask for an internship, kindly give them space,” Mandago noted.
Uasin Gishu Senator Prof Margaret Kamar echoed the Governor ’s sentiments, expressing the need for such investors to offer opportunities for the local youth to gain skills.
“This Petrol station will stimulate business and support economic development – as it will also benefit individuals selling food, fruits among others around here,” said Senator Kamar.
EAGOL Group of petrol station CEO Abdi Ali on his part said as a company, they are committed to continuing to be a premier regional oil marketing company.
“We take pride in this company as it makes progress. This is the second in a month after Naivasha,” Ali said.
