KNAWASCO works towards expansion of water connectivity in Kapsabet and Nandi Hills towns.

Residents of Kapsabet and Nandi Hills have been assured of consistent supply of piped water in the near future.

Kapsabet Nandi Water and Sanitation Company (KNAWASCO) said plans to supply water to every resident in the two towns in Nandi County was in process.

According to Company General Manager Antony Kiboiy  in the end, all residents will get enough water without being rationed.


Addressing press in his office during the world water day on Monday, Kiboiy said that as a company they have a total connection of 5,000 customers.

He said from the total, 4,000 have an active account while the 1000 have not paid their bills.

Kiboiy said they have discussed with both National and county government to expand provision of water within Kapsabet town.

“We have an ongoing project we will be getting water from Lessos area through gravity to areas around Kapsabet, the new project will inject slightly over 6milion liters of water per day to residents of Kapsabet,” he said.

He also said they will expand the supply to surrounding areas within Kapsabet and outside expanding the connection from 5000 to 10000.

Kiboiy said they have secured funding through rift valley water works to expand the project of Nandi hills which will be done a fresh.

“We will do a new treatment work, upgrade the current existing works and construct addition storage tank from the current 50 thousand cubic meters of water to slightly over 2000 cubic meters of storage,” he said.
