Kapsabet Woman arrested over fraud.

A middle aged woman is being held at Kapsabet police station over fraud claims.

Irene Jemutai is said to have lied to her husband that their four-year-old child had kidney failure and required money for surgical operation.

Kipture chief Cleoohas Bunei said the woman told her husband that the child had a kidney transplant and needed money to settle hospital bill.

After investigations, it was established that the woman wanted to extort money from her husband.

“I want to warn people against extortion. Use legal means to get money rather than deception,” said Bunai.

Confirming the incident, area chief Kipture location said the woman was arrested while the child was taken to hospital for treatment.
