Implementation committee claims corruption stalling projects in Nandi.
Corruption in the award of tenders is to blame for the stalling of projects in Nandi County.
Chair of the implementation committee in the county Gedion Koech has said procurement and finance departments colluded in awarding tenders to unreliable contractors leading to delay in completion of many projects.
Koech who is also the Nandi Hills ward representative said projects including the construction of a dispensary in his ward had stalled with no clear explanation on what has caused delays.
“The problem is that the procurement gave out contracts for construction of matatu stage, dispensary and a water project to proxies leading to delays,” claimed Mr Koech.
The committee chair said he was seeking the intervention of Governor Stephen Sang to ensure the projects were completed.
