Illicit brewers in Uasin gishu warned against attacking Chiefs.
Illegal brewers in Uasin Gishu County have been warned against assaulting chiefs who are leading the crackdown on illicit brews in the County.
Speaking in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County Commissioner Abdirisack Jaldesa says those who will be found taking laws in their hands will face the full force of the law adding that it is against the law to threaten a uniformed officer.
“Several cases of chiefs being assaulted have been reported. Despite the efforts made by chiefs and their assistants some culprits have been threatening them.Yesterday a chief was injured because of fighting illegal liquor. I will not allow my officers to be intimidated” Jaldesa said.
He said the suspects who attacked chiefs in Matunda and Ainabkoi will be summoned at the DCI for further actions against them adding that they will continue fighting against illegal alcohol in the county noting that the war on illicit brews would only end when all illicit dens are destroyed and owners arrested.
“I warn that stern action will be taken against individuals or groups engaging in such acts” he said
The County security boss was speaking after holding a meeting with chiefs and their assistants from Ainabkoi Constituency.
