Governor Stephen Sang unveils list of 10 CECs for vetting by MCAs.

Nandi County Governor Stephen Sang has today unveiled his proposed list of County Executive Committee Members. The names will be tabled in the County Assembly for scrutiny before approval.

Here is the full list and the qualifications for those nominated to the positions.

1. CPA. Alfred Kiprotich Lagat (33 yrs) – Finance & Economic Planning

Alfred is a Bachelor of Commerce graduate (Finance Option). He is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya. He has a wide knowledge in banking and an expert in tax matters and is also is a trainer in Public Finance Management with emphasis on PFM Act 2012. He worked as a Senior Associate in Deloitte and Touche. He also worked as an Assistant Finance Manager at Diamond Trust Bank. He is currently the lead Consultant for Tullon Consulting Ltd. He has worked with Office of the Auditor General, Controller of Budget and other Counties in relation to the same. CPA. Lagat is married with two children and hails from Aldai Sub-County.

2. Mr. Elly Kurgat (28 yrs) – Sports & Youth Affairs

Elly is an Agribusiness Management graduate who has demonstrated experience developing intervention strategies that address youth radicalization in high risk environments. He has practical experience designing, sourcing funds and implementing ideas geared towards addressing youth unemployment. He is credited with the generation and development of the Youth Agribusiness Incubation centers that trains, mentors and support Youth Led Initiatives in the Agribusiness Sector. He has been extensively involved in community youth mentorship programmes and initiatives and has widely consulted with international donor agencies on multi-cultural projects and supported their implementations, simultaneously. Recently, he consulted as a Youth Sector Specialist in the development of the Kenya Investment Mechanism; a funded programme that aims at boosting investments and business development by the youth by $1M in five years. He is currently working with Agricultural Development Corporation. Elly is married with one child and hails from Tinderet Sub-County.

3. Mrs. Ruth C. Koech (44 yrs) – Health & Sanitation

Ruth Cherotich Koech has a degree in Nursing, Biology and a Master’s in Public Health Management, with a background in the health sector for over two decades. She has worked as a healthcare provider and as a Public Health Administrator for Iowa State Public Health Department in the USA and had the privilege to review a budget of over 250 Million dollars. Ruth is married with four children.

4. Eng. Hillary Kipruto Koech (35 yrs) – Transport & Infrastructure

Hillary is a Civil engineer currently working with a group of Engineers namely Cas consulting Engineers as a consultant in design , supervision of Infrastructural projects in West Pokot county, besides this he has been working as project engineer in design and construction of various roads namely, Kapsoya roads in Uasin Gishu County, rehabilitation of Machakos turn-off ulu sultan Hamud section of Nairobi-Mombasa road, improvement of road Kapsabet-Eldoret roads and actively participated in various design of roads within the country. His level of expertise is majorly on supervision, design and implementation of various Infrastructural projects. Eng. Koech is married with two children and hails from Emgwen Sub-County.

5. Mr. Jacob Tanui (43 yrs) – Lands, Environment & Natural Resources

Jacob is an Entrepreneur, Trainer, Motivational Speaker and a Counselor. He holds a Bachelors of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics, Computer and Physics from JKUAT. Jacob has over ten years’ experience in the Banking sector, having worked in Co-operative Bank, Branch Manager K-Rep Bank and Business Growth Development Manager Equity Bank. He was instrumental in setting up Credit Administration Departments both in K-Rep Bank and streamlining Credit Processes at Co-operative Bank. Mr. Tanui is married with three children and hails from Mosop Sub-County.

6. Mrs. Teresa C. Morogo (48 yrs) – Administration, Public Service & E-Government

Teresa Chepchumba Morogo is a Human Resource Practitioner who is licensed to practice HR by the Institute of Human Resource Management. She has worked with several Public Institutions for close to twenty years. She has a BSc. Degree from University of Eastern Africa, Baraton. She also has a Post-graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM). She is a Master’s holder with specialization in Human Resource Management from Egerton University. She formally worked at University of Eldoret and has recently been the head of HR and Administration at KALRO – Sugar Research Institute. Teresa is married with four children and hails from Uasin Gishu County.

7. Mrs. Valentine Chemeli Chumo (30 yrs) – Tourism, Culture & Social Welfare

Valentine Chemeli Chumo is a holder of Bachelor of Arts Degree in Design from the University of Nairobi. She has worked as a project manager for Projects Intelligence group, whose tasks included overseeing and managing the provision of services on the online e-commerce platform. Mrs. Chumo is also entrepreneur and mentor and is currently the Director of Alpha capita Foundation, which targets to empower youth, women and disadvantaged groups through financial empowerment. Valentine is married with one child and hails from Nandi Hills Sub-County.

8. Mr. Stanley Kipkemboi Baliach (46 yrs) – Education

Stanley is a trained a teacher and worked with TSC for sixteen. In his teaching profession he headed the Kenya Primary Schools Head teachers Association (KEPSHA). He has also worked in Kisii University’, Africa Nazarene and Laikipia Universities as a part time lecturer. Mr. Baliach is currently undertaking his PhD course. Mr. Baliach is married with six children and hails from Chesumei Sub-County.

9. Mr. Wilson Kibor Taiy (58 yrs) – Agriculture & Cooperative Development

Wilson Kibor is a holder of a Master’s Degree in Agricultural Extension and Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Production and has worked in the Agricultural Sector for 32 years gaining experience and expertise in agricultural extension, programme design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. Mr. Taiy is married with four children.

10. Dr. Benard Kiplimo Lagat (37 yrs) – Trade, Investment & Industrialization

Bernard Kiplimo Lagat is a Development Economist with over ten years’ experience in consultancy, research and training in both public and private sectors. He Currently a Senior Lecturer and Postgraduate Chairman in the Department of Economics, School of Business and Economics at Moi University teaching both postgraduate and undergraduate students. He is also among a group of experts supporting National Agricultural Investment Plan Country reviews in Kenya and Tanzania for AU (African Union) under IFPRI (International Food Policy Research Institute). Dr. Lagat is married with two children.
