Governor Sang distributes sanitizers and face masks as the fight against Covid-19 intensifies.
Nandi County has started to issue face masks and sanitizers to the business community to avert possible spread of Covid-19.
Governor Stephen Sang led the exercise where he distributed the protective materials to various Matatu Saccos, bodaboda operators, market vendors, law enforcers and officers in the health department.
Sand expressed optimism that maintenance of proper hygiene and maintenance of social distance as directed by the national government was going to ensure Coronavirus was contained.
He lauded the national government for limiting movement of people from high risk areas where Covid-19 cases have been reported saying it will curb the spread of the virus to the villages.
The county chief further asked people to stay at home, and farmers to concentrate on farming to ensure there was adequate food supply in the country.
Statement by Sang came at a time that Covid-19 cases have continued to escalate to 158 with six deaths from infections.
