Pastoral communities living along the Kenya and Uganda Border have started a cross border peace building initiative to strengthen peace in the region.
Led by West Pokot governor John Lonyangapuo, leaders and residents from West Pokot, Trans- nzoia and Bukwo District in Uganda participated in a peace run to help foster peace and development.

The education peace run held at Amanangar, in Loch village was organised by, Local goverment of Bukwo Sub district,Bukwo University Students Development Association (BUSDA) and the County Government of West pokot.
Governor Lonyangapuo was accompanied by MPs, Robert Bukose(Endebess), Samuel Moroto (Kapenguria), David Pkosing(Pokot south), Peter Lochakapong(Sigor), Mark Lomunokal(Kecheliba), Kassait Kamket(Tiaty), Lilian Tomitom(West Pokot) among other several MCAs.
